Audrey A. Felsen, Esq.
Audrey Felsen has more than 25 years of experience devoted to criminal defense and related litigation. She represents individuals at every stage of state and federal criminal proceedings, from early investigation through trial, as well as in post-conviction matters, juvenile proceedings, pardons, and record erasure. Ms. Felsen has tried cases to verdict in both Connecticut and New York state courts, and in federal court in the District of Connecticut and the Southern District of New York. Her significant trial and courtroom experience spans a wide range of criminal matters, including complex financial fraud, multi-defendant drug conspiracies, violent crimes, domestic disputes, motor vehicle offenses, and juvenile matters. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and before the United States District Courts for the District of Connecticut and the Southern District of New York, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Ms. Felsen approaches every case, whether it resolves short of trial or proceeds to verdict, with the same preparation and intensity. Her practice is guided by a total dedication to her clients and a deep commitment to the integrity of the criminal justice system and the principles of zealous advocacy that are its foundation. She builds a partnership with her clients and advocates forcefully on their behalf at every stage of the proceedings.
Ms. Felsen represents both respondents and complainants in Title IX and other disciplinary proceedings at colleges, universities, and K-12 public and private schools. She also serves as an independent investigator for colleges and private schools in connection with Title IX complaints and other disciplinary matters before conduct review boards. She also serves as an independent investigator for agencies and organizations throughout Connecticut. In addition, Ms. Felsen represents complainants and respondents in civil restraining order and protective order proceedings.
Ms. Felsen served as the District Representative for the District of Connecticut's Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel for over ten years, where she assisted in overseeing the delivery of appointed counsel services in federal criminal cases. She is a former President and former Executive Board Member of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (CCDLA), an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), a member of the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA), and a member of the Fairfield County Bar Association (FCBA), where she formerly co-chaired the Criminal Justice section for over seven years.
Ms. Felsen is a board member of Connecticut Support Treatment and Reentry, Inc. (CT STAR), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing residential housing, vocational training, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities
for individuals in court-supervised programs and those on pretrial or post-sentence release. She has also served on the Board of Disability Rights Connecticut (DRCT) and currently serves on the Ethics Commission for the Town of Trumbull.
Ms. Felsen has served as an adjunct instructor at Sacred Heart University teaching courses in criminal justice and regularly appears as a guest speaker at colleges and universities on issues related to criminal law and the criminal justice system.
Ms. Felsen earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from Brown University. She has been recognized by her peers as a Top Lawyer in Fairfield County and is the 2017 recipient of the Diane Polan Award, honoring her
