Bruce Koffsky has more than 35 years of experience representing individuals charged with criminal offenses in state and federal courts. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn, New York, where he prosecuted narcotics offenses and violent crimes, trying dozens of cases to verdict. That prosecutorial experience, gained in New York City's busiest courtrooms, gave him a thorough understanding of how the government builds its cases and where those cases can be challenged. Since relocating to Connecticut, Mr. Koffsky has devoted his practice exclusively to criminal defense, bringing that same courtroom intensity to the representation of his clients.

Mr. Koffsky has been involved in some of the most significant federal prosecutions in Connecticut and New York, including multi-defendant RICO trials, homicide and violent-crime conspiracies, narcotics cases, and complex white-collar matters. His trial experience includes serving as lead counsel in a federal death-penalty prosecution in which he secured an acquittal on the murder charges, eliminating the possibility of a death sentence, and acting as lead trial counsel in a three-month federal racketeering trial involving nine homicide allegations. Whether a defendant is charged with a misdemeanor or a capital offense, Mr. Koffsky brings the same preparation, rigor, and commitment to every client and every case.

Since 1993, Mr. Koffsky has been a member of the District of Connecticut's Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel, through which he has served as lead counsel in multiple federal capital prosecutions involving allegations of multi-victim homicides and drug-related killings. He is experienced in managing large, multi-defendant matters, navigating complex forensic and evidentiary issues, and developing persuasive mitigation in death-eligible cases.

Mr. Koffsky is admitted to practice in both federal and state courts in Connecticut and New York and has appeared before the federal courts of New Jersey and Vermont. He attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City,

where he clerked for a federal district court judge and served on the Moot Court Board. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University at Buffalo with a double major in Theater and Philosophy.

Mr. Koffsky has recently been inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the most prestigious professional organizations for trial lawyers in the United States. Fellowship is extended only to those who have demonstrated exceptional trial ability, the highest standards of ethics, and the respect of judges, colleagues, and adversaries alike.
